Ms. MURAKAMI, Rin
Student Intern

Rin Murakami was a student intern on the project in July 2024.

She is a recent graduate from the University of Hong Kong. Coming from a multicultural family background, her instinctive curiosity and interest in languages and cultures motivated her to pursue an undergraduate degree in Language and Communication and Japanese Studies. Throughout her undergraduate studies, Rin developed a keen interest in sociolinguistics and multilingual communication. This passion has now led her to pursue a master’s degree in Applied English Linguistics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in the upcoming academic year. Rin’s research interests centre on investigating language ideologies, family language policies, and identity construction in Hong Kong multilingual families. With prior experience in event management and editorial roles, she is looking forward to gaining first-hand insights into the research process, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with a team of academics and researchers.
